UNT Dallas Student Learning and Success Center

As the University of North Texas at Dallas campus expanded, the need for a central hub to connect students, faculty, and the community became essential. The $63 million Student Learning and Success Center was designed to meet that need, adding 132,000 square feet of classrooms, collaboration areas, and event spaces. Austin Commercial and VAI Architects led the effort to create a building that would serve as the heart of student life and academic support.
 
MAREK was responsible for all interior framing, drywall assemblies, and acoustical ceilings. The design included large open spaces, varied ceiling heights, and areas with strict acoustic performance requirements. The challenge was to coordinate work across multiple trades while maintaining precise alignment and high-quality finishes on a tight construction schedule within an active campus.

MAREK partnered with Austin Commercial and VAI Architects to deliver interiors that met both design and performance goals. The team installed extensive framing and drywall systems throughout classrooms, study zones, and the large event space, creating smooth transitions and clean finishes. Acoustical ceilings were incorporated to enhance sound control, efficiency, and visual balance across the building.
 
Through coordination and consistent communication, MAREK delivered the project on schedule and to the high standards required by the university. The completed facility now serves as a vibrant hub for student life, bringing together enrollment, advising, career services, and collaborative learning in one space.
