PROJECT OVERVIEW
Terminal A of the San Antonio airport had not seen any renovations since it opened in 1980. MAREK was selected for this terminal remodel to upgrade the infrastructure to last another 25 years. The renovation of this terminal was split up into three phases to assess and evaluate the aging terminal’s infrastructure and architectural finishes before beginning design and construction. The airport's operations remained open during the renovations and so scheduling was a challenge. The schedule needed to be coordinated with tenants, concessioners, airlines, and the owner, while keeping the public in mind. Through active communication, the more efficient, long-lasting terminal debuted in June 2014.
