DACA Workforce Training Program Jobsite Update

DFW Drywall & Acoustical Contractors Association - The DACA Workforce Training Program is continuously growing and has started its third year as the Accredited Verification Wall's & Ceiling's program for North Texas. Please reach out to DACA or CEF for information on being part of this DFW Industry Program. These WTP Update e-mail blasts are also sent out to our counterparts at CEF, TEXO and ASA.

DACA Drywall Director, Eddie McCormick, visited Marek's Omni Hotel project in Frisco today with their coach, Samuel Amado . While there, we were able to walk through the participant verification process and verify a few of their employees and also educate them on what the program is all about. The participants were verified on modules that they were currently working on at the time.

This is one of the key benefits to our program. Unlike a union program, our participants are verified on the project that they are already on, doing the task they are already lined out to do that day by their supervisor. When the coach arrives at that participants work station the participant continues to work as normal and the coach simply lets them know that he will be observing the task they are performing and that it is being done per the outlined NCCER guidelines for drywall.

This is important to point out to your supervisors and or superintendents who may have reservations about our program. Not only will it not interfere with production, it will also motivate that employee to work harder and smarter. Not to mention, it shows that GC on site that your company is dedicated to training an verifying todays workforce.

DACA/CEF is available for any training a participating company may need. Everything from a walk through verification on-site and safety training, to blueprint reading and layout classes coming soon.
