The new TCU Human Performance Center is a space built with purpose, precision, and the needs of real athletes in mind. Designed to support 22 Division I athletic programs, the center brings together training, recovery, and collaboration in a practical, high-performing environment.
From the earliest budgeting conversations to the final ceiling panels, MAREK’s Dallas team partnered closely with Linbeck and the design team to maintain accuracy, responsiveness, and a clean, organized jobsite.
Collaboration That Made an Impact
Strong teamwork set the tone for the entire project. Working closely with Linbeck allowed the crew to solve problems quickly and keep progress on track. The team’s communication, attention to detail, and follow-through stood out throughout construction.
Jose from Linbeck shared, “It has been a pleasure working with you again and your outstanding team on this TCU project. Your team always brings their best and supports the visions of the clients we serve as an extension of Linbeck, which is very admirable. From early collaboration for budgeting and constructability reviews to onsite execution, MAREK and your team have hit it out of the park. Thank you for another successful project.”
Built With Purpose and Precision
The work included ground-up construction and interior build-out, including metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, specialty finishes, and high-end ceiling systems that integrated AV and lighting.
A few things that set this project apart:
- Fast adjustments when steel misalignments were discovered, made possible by partnering directly with the cold-formed metal framing engineer.
- Daily coordination with Linbeck and all trade partners to sequence work around MEP installations.
- Early field verification of layout to avoid rework and ensure accuracy.
Inside the facility, visual craftsmanship played a significant role. Wood veneer ceiling panels, Maxxit Agilis with integrated lighting, and USG Illusion perforated panels came together cleanly, with precise alignment and smooth transitions. The Special Product Division delivered consistent, architectural-quality finishes that elevated the final space.
A New Home for TCU Athletes
Now complete, the Human Performance Center gives TCU students and athletes a place to train, recover, and come together. Built to perform and built to last, it reflects the strength of the Horned Frog community. You can even hear the school spirit in the acoustics of the space, especially when the familiar battle cry rings out: “Riff, Ram, Bah Zoo.”
